Lying

The voices echoed around her, humming in her ears. She tried to drown out the moaning whisper of words and stared intently into his crystal blue eyes. The slow motion movie that played out before her, it's images clouded and unfocused, left her weak and shaking. A hot tear dripped down her cheek. His lips moved in rhythm with the droning tune of murmurs and hushes from surrounding voices, but his was undistiguishable from the others. She blinked away her blurry tears and looked away from the black and white scene around her. Her eyes to the ground and her back to him she bit her lip. She felt a warmth on her hand but brushed it away, not seeking or accepting the comfort of his fingertips.Her mouth opened hesitiantly but she closed it without a sound, the quiet of her emotions overwhelming her. She felt him place his palms on her arms from behind her. A whisper in her ear sang a song of lies, his melodical voice seeping into her heart. She held up her shaking hands and attempted speech through quivering lips, but the try was in vain. Stranger's eyes stared at her tear stained face, their judgemental glares making her more humiliated than she already was. Slowly, as if in a trance, she took his warm hands in hers. Her heart thudded quietly, the life draining out of it. She felt the color draining from her face as she shook her head and turned away. Her first footsteps away from him were heavy and dizziness nearly overtook her. She told herself it was better this way, but at one last look into his pleading eyes she knew she was lying.
